Our next destination will take us through the incredible landscapes and archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will visit the picturesque towns of Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo; In addition, You will arrive at the salt mines of Maras and the circular terraces of Moray.
The main destination of our trip will undoubtedly be a visit to one of the seven wonders of the world: Machupicchu. Here you will enjoy the incredible panoramic views and constructions perfectly made by the Inca civilization. To complete your adventure, we will visit the South Valley visiting more impressive archaeological sites, such as Tipón, Pikillacta and the Andahuaylillas temple.

Itinerary
ITINERARY:
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO – PICK UP FROM THE AIRPORT – CITY TOUR IN CUSCO:
We will pick you up from the Cusco airport at the indicated time of your flight schedule, and then transfer you to the hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon 12:50 hrs. we will pick you up at your hotel for the city tour.
Starting the tour in the imposing main square of Cusco, realizing the history that it has, where we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco, symbol of Andean religious syncretism, then we go through one of the narrow streets like many in Cusco to the Inca Palace of Qoricancha, where it is located also, the convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, this place was considered in the Inca times as the most important palace built for the Sun god, culminating the visit we will board our tourist bus which will transport us to the 4 ruins which are around the city of Cusco arriving first at the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, which is strategically built on a nearby mountain from where you can see the entire city of Cusco. It is famous for its megalithic stones worked in limestone, some of which are 9 meters high and weigh approximately 100 tons, in this place the festival of Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun is held every year.
Then we visit the archaeological site of Qenqo, which means labyrinth or zigzag, fulfilled a purely religious function and where it is believed that the Incas mummified their dead, outside it has a semicircular enclosure with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that simulates being a puma which measures approximately six meters.
Later we go to the archaeological site of Puca Pucara, which means “red fortress”, since the calcareous stones which this site was built, it have acquired the reddish coloration of the land. This place had the function of strategic control of people who entered the city of Cusco in Inca times.
And finally we visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, or “tambo” which means place of supply and rest, which were strategically located in the network of roads of the Inca, where we can also see sources of water for religious purposes or supply, as well as niches to harbor mummies and offerings, a really magical place.
Culminating the tour we return to the bus which will transport us back to the city of Cusco to rest after an extraordinary tour.

DAY 2: SUPER SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS TOUR
In the morning at 06:30 Hrs. approx. we will pick you up at the hotel, later we will start the tour of the Super Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, we will go by bus to the town of Chinchero.
Arriving at the archaeological park of Chinchero, which is characterized by the existence of a Catholic colonial church which was built on an Inca palace, a sign of the imposition of the Catholic religion on the Andean culture at the arrival of the conquerors, as well as the existence of places of religious use, huacas and others, Chinchero is also characterized by its textiles produced in an artisanal way with techniques acquired from generation to generation since Inca times, you can visit a textile center to appreciate these processes of obtaining colors based on natural products for the dyeing of different wools, either llama or alpaca.
After Chinchero we will go in by transport to the archaeological park of Moray, agricultural terraces of circular form, the only ones in circular shape of all the Inca constructions referred to terraces, the function that fulfilled was that of an experimental type site for the obtaining and domestication of products and varieties corn, potato, olluco among others. In addition, we can appreciate the scenic beauty of mountains and snow-capped mountains considered apus or deities in Inca times.
Then we go to the salt mines of Maras, characterized mainly by the existence of water sources with sodium chloride that come from the mountain which make possible the existence of salt at more than 3000 meters above sea level. Salt production grounds in an approximate amount of 3800 which make this attraction have an exceptional beauty scenic.
Later we will go to the town of Urubamba where we have scheduled the buffet lunch, and thus taste the Peruvian Andean cuisine, in the sacred valley of the Incas.
Once finished lunch, we will visit the citadel and fortress of Ollantaytambo, whose name is due in honor of the Inca General Ollanta, who had an affair with an Inca princess, daughter of Pachacútec. It is the only city of the Inca Empire in Peru that is still inhabited, Ollantaytambo could have been a Tambo, city-lodging and likewise a fortress built in order to monitor the entrance to this part of the valley and thus get to protect it from feasible invasions of jungle people.
At the end of the tour, we will go to the train station of Ollantaytambo to take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town). Once arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes, we can rest at the hotel and at night our guide will visit us to give us more information about our tour to Machupicchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
DAY 3: TOUR TO MACHUPICCHU BY TRAIN
In the morning after breakfast, we will go to the bus station, where we will board the bus that makes a zigzagging route to the mountain where the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu is located (30-minute bus trip).
When getting off the bus we will go to the entrance of Machu Picchu, where we must present our tickets and respective identification documents, from this place the tour will begin in the citadel of Machu Picchu, we will visit the main enclosures of the city with the tour guide who will give us all the information and history of Machu Picchu for approximately 2 hours, We will visit the citadel and places such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, among others. On the tour we will open the senses and fill ourselves with the great energy that hides this majestic place.
At the appropriate time we must take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes where we can enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants and optionally you can visit the hot springs of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), that are located north of the town (entrance not included).
At the appointed time we will take the return train from Aguas Calientes 2 hours of travel to Ollantaytambo, where the car will be waiting for you to transport you to the city of Cusco (arrival in Cusco 20:00 Hrs. Approx.).

DAY 4: SOUTH VALLEY TOUR
In the morning at 08:30 hrs approx. We will pick you up at your hotel or accommodation to start the tour of the south valley, we will go by bus to the archaeological attraction of Tipon. Arriving at the archaeological park of Tipon, we can appreciate the scenic beauty of agricultural terraces of considerable size which were part of an Inca temple dedicated to the cult of water.
As well as water sources for religious purposes very important for the Inca era and sample of the high hydraulic engineering which was handled in Inca times, consisting of channels and aqueducts that supplied this vital liquid to the agricultural terraces and more sectors.
After Tipon we go in our transport to the archaeological park of Pikillaqta, city region belonging to the pre-Inca Wari culture, which had its heyday before the development of the Inca culture, characterized by a walling as a way of protection of the city and construction different from the Inca. Composed of urban, religious and leisure sectors which were occupied after the arrival of the Inca culture.
Immediately after we go in our transport to the town of Andahuaylias, to visit the Catholic temple of the same name considered by many as the Sistine Chapel of South America due to the ornamentation that it has which covers canvases and paintings made fresco in colonial times sample of the Andean syncretism that until today can be seen in these localities.
Culminating the tour, we will return to the city of Cusco and on the way back we can make a stop in the town of Oropesa to buy the famous “chuta” bread typical in the Cusco region. Later go back to Cusco city to rest after this pleasant experience.
DAY 5: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
This day we will have free time in the city of Cusco until our flight time. At the indicated time the transport will pass through the hotel in Cusco in order to transfer you to the airport and then take your return flight.
