Itinerary
ITINERARY:
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 08:00 a.m. and we will transport you to the train station of Poroy ( 30 minutes approx. by car).
Once at Poroy station (08:30 hrs.), we will board the train to go to the Aguas Calientes town (3 hrs and 30 mins approx by train). On the trip in the exclusive and luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train, we will start with a delicious welcome cocktail. You can appreciate extraordinary landscapes, as well as the flora and fauna of this area of Cusco. In addition, we will enjoy a sophisticated restaurant car, bar car and observatory car, from where we can connect with the outdoors and the wonderful route, in the company of a great live local music show. During the tour, the maître d’ will invite us to enjoy brunch and a gourmet lunch.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town), the agency staff will be waiting for us and go to the bus station, where we will board the bus that makes a zigzagging route to the mountain where Machu Picchu is located (30-minute by bus).
When we get off the bus we will go to the entrance of Machu Picchu where we need to present our tickets and respective identification documents, from this place the visit will begin in the citadel of Machu Picchu, we will visit the main enclosures of the city with our tour guide who will give us all the information and history of Machu Picchu for approximately 2-3 hours. We will visit places such as: the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, among others. In the tour we will be invited to open the senses and fill us with the great energy that hides this majestic place.
We can also take all the photographs we want, later we will be invited to taste an afternoon tea with the most delicious aromas in the Restaurant of the Santuary lodge hotel which is located at the entrance of Machu Picchu. At the appropriate time, we will take the bus from the entrance of Machu Picchu, the bus back to the Aguas Calientes town.
At 17:20 hrs. We will take the return train from the Machu Picchu station, 3 hrs and 20 mins to Poroy station.
On board the train, we will have a delicious dinner and drinks. Once in Poroy, a staff of the agency will be waiting for us to transport us to Cusco city. Arrival time in Cusco 21:30 hrs. approximately.
NOTE: FROM JANUARY TO MARCH THE POROY TRAIN STATION IS CLOSED, SO THE TRAIN WILL LEAVE FROM THE URUBAMBA STATION, OUR COMPANY WILL PROVIDE PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION FROM THE CITY OF CUSCO TO THE URUBAMBA TRAIN STATION.
