The Short Inca Trail 2 Days and 1 night, is a shorter alternative to the traditional Inca trail of 4 days, this is a unique experience that allows you to know one of the wonders of the world in a traditional way through its network of roads in the middle of the vast vegetation of the Urubamba valley.

This tour of 2 days and 1 night allows you to enter in the mysterious and magical path, full of history, flora and fauna. Without a doubt, this experience is intended for all adventurous people who want to experience that connection with nature and the Andean energy that this tour contains. If you plan to visit Machu Picchu, you should do by this traditional trek that offers you to enjoy this short tour of the Inca trail on the first day and visit Machu Picchu extensively on the second day.

  • RETURN 2ND DAY: 20:00 HRS.

Itinerary

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CUSCO – CHACHABAMBA – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU

We will pick you up from the hotel early in the morning (04:00 AM) and you will be transported to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will take the train towards to KM 104, starting point of the INCA TRAIL, on the route by train you will enjoy the most beautiful landscapes, from where we can see picturesque landscapes, until we arrive Km. 104, from here we will start the walk. Firstly we need to pass the first check point, after 10 minutes by walking we will arrive to the archaeological group   of “Chachabamba” (2250 masl), later you go up by a impressive path around two and a half hours to the fascinating archaeological group of “Wiñaywayna” (2650 masl), a work of art made by the incas, where you can enjoy a tasty box lunch. In the afternoon we continue through the semi-tropical forest towards the “Intipunku” (the door of the sun) from where we can enjoy the first panoramic view of the majestic “Machupicchu “. From here we descend to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we can optionally visit the hot springs and spend the night comfortably at the selected hotel in Aguas Calientes. 

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This day after breakfast we will board the bus to make the 30-minute trip to Machu Picchu, once in Machu Picchu, you need to show passports and tickets. Then we will visit Machu Picchu, approximately for 2 and a half hours, we will see the most important enclosures with our guide, places such as the Inti Watana, Temple of the Condor, the  main square, the  sacred rock and others, after the tour  we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to optionally visit the hot springs, in the afternoon you will board  the  train back  to Ollantaytambo, where  the transport will wait for you to return to the city of Cusco.

DEPARTURE DATES:

We have groups for the Inca Trail every day of the year. Except February, when the Inca Trail is closed for the whole month. The month of February you can visit Machu Picchu by train. It is no longer possible to do the Inca Trail.
