SHORT INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU 2D/1N

DURATION: 2 DAYS AND 1 NIGHT.

TIMETABLE: 

• • DEPARTURE 1ST DAY: 04:00 HRS.

• RETURN 2ND DAY: 20:00 HRS.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CUSCO – CHACHABAMBA – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU

We will pick you up from the hotel early in the morning (04:00 AM) and you will be transported to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will take the train towards to KM 104, starting point of the INCA TRAIL, on the route by train you will enjoy the most beautiful landscapes, from where we can see picturesque landscapes, until we arrive Km. 104, from here we will start the walk. Firstly we need to pass the first check point, after 10 minutes by walking we will arrive to the archaeological group   of “Chachabamba” (2250 masl), later you go up by a impressive path around two and a half hours to the fascinating archaeological group of “Wiñaywayna” (2650 masl), a work of art made by the incas, where you can enjoy a tasty box lunch. In the afternoon we continue through the semi-tropical forest towards the “Intipunku” (the door of the sun) from where we can enjoy the first panoramic view of the majestic “Machupicchu “. From here we descend to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we can optionally visit the hot springs and spend the night comfortably at the selected hotel in Aguas Calientes. 

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This day after breakfast we will board the bus to make the 30-minute trip to Machu Picchu, once in Machu Picchu, you need to show passports and tickets. Then we will visit Machu Picchu, approximately for 2 and a half hours, we will see the most important enclosures with our guide, places such as the Inti Watana, Temple of the Condor, the  main square, the  sacred rock and others, after the tour  we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to optionally visit the hot springs, in the afternoon you will board  the  train back  to Ollantaytambo, where  the transport will wait for you to return to the city of Cusco.

• Train ticket from Ollantaytambo to Km. 104.

• Entrance ticket to the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu.

• 1 Night Hotel in Aguas Calientes.

• Visit to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.

• Tips, snacks, etc.
• Entrance to Huayna Picchu Mountain ($ 50.00 USD optional).

WHAT TO BRING:

• Passport or ID.
• Wear slippers or light shoes.
• Raincoat (long poncho) in rainy season.
• Long-sleeved shirts.
• Long pants.
• Sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat for sunny days.
• Sunglasses.
• Camera or camcorder.
• Have on hand money of low denomination soles or dollars.
• Bathingtaje (for hot springs in Aguas Calientes).
• Flashlight with spare batteries.
• Some additional snacks (chocolates, candies, etc).

DEPARTURE DATES:

We have groups for the Inca Trail every day of the year. Except February, when the Inca Trail is closed for the whole month. The month of February you can visit Machu Picchu by train. It is no longer possible to do the Inca Trail.

COST PER PERSON IN US DOLLARS:

The tours are in shared service, that is, you will join a group for the excursions, which means that you will share the bus with other travelers like you.  And you will have a Tour Guide for all the group. This is also an opportunity to meet other people.
